Microsoft says Bing on Verizon Android not exclusive
Microsoft today partly confirmed and downplayed its deal for Bing on Verizon's Android phones. It told SAI that there would be multiple Android phones on the carrier that would use Bing by default, but that the deal was "not exclusive" and that some of them would still use Google as a matter of course. Pentax K-r brings higher sensitivity, speed to entry DSLRs
Pentax on Thursday brought out an upgrade to its least expensive DSLR. The K-r directly tackles some of the issues with the earlier K-x and focuses on image performance first: it now shoots at up to ISO 25,600 (up from 12,800) and at up to 6FPS for 25 shots in continuous mode (up from 4.7). Repair firm iFixit has conducted a teardown of the new iPod nano, which jettisons a clickwheel in favor a 1.54-inch touchscreen. The company describes the player as "more like a Shuffle with a screen than a Nano with multi-touch," in part because the Nano's case design is similar to that of the Shuffle. ARM Eagle becomes Cortex-A15, promises up to 2.5GHz
ARM today gave a name and details to its future Eagle mobile architecture. The Cortex-A15 can scale up to 1.5GHz in a dual-core format and can even work in quad-core versions up to 2.5GHz, although this is more likely to reach larger or server-like devices. Apple allows 3rd-party iPhone dev tools, posts review rules
Apple today made a rare about-face in policy today and reversed its ban on third-party development tools for iOS 4. The company said it was now "relaxing all restrictions" on what was allowed and would let developers write iPad and iPhone apps with Adobe's Flash CS5 or other kits beyond Xcode.
